Embraced by a church and a community hungry for the Word of God, Pastor Stephen Sumrall and his wife, Diane, led the first service of Christ Chapel in the Bendix Theatre, Century Center, South Bend, Indiana. |
The congregation began with their first worship service led by Diane Sumrall. Powerful and moving, members joined in one accord to praise and glorify God for their new beginnings.
Pastor Delron Shirley led the church with the first announcements introducing Campus Classes, Ladies Advance, worship meetings, prayer meetings, nursery and Sunday School for the children. As Pastor Stephen Sumrall came forward, waves of applause and a standing ovation welcomed him as he took his place to address the congregation. A special and memorable baby dedication took place as Jordan and his family joined Pastor Sumrall for the first baby dedication at Christ Chapel. As Pastor Sumrall resumed the pulpit, waves of applause once again filled the arena as members displayed their love and support. After quieting the crowd, Pastor Steve was joined by his wife, Diane, which began another round of support by the members. Pastor Sumrall proceeded with his first message ministering to the congregation regarding God's healing and restoration power through the Holy Spirit. He indicated the desire of God to bring wholeness and wellness to every individual. He spoke of the healing of the nations and the living water of Christ for thirsty souls around the world and in every walk of life. The desire of Pastor Sumrall and his wife and the congregation is for Christ Chapel to be a haven, a sanctuary where people can come to know the reality of God's presence personally and where His healing waters flow. At the conclusion of the service, the first invtiation for salvation went forth and the first new converts of Christ Chapel came forward. The day ended joyously as the members joined hands and prayed for one another. in the midst of news crews and traffic, the church was on fire for God thanking Him for His faithfulness and outpouring of love. |

The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.
Deuteronomy 28:8-9
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
