Meet the staff of Provident Ministries

 





Stephen Sumrall
Founder of Provident Ministries, Pastor of Christ Chapel Church

Steve is the founder and president of Provident Ministries and the Senior Pastor of Christ Chapel Church. Born into a ministry family with parents who were Missionaries that traveled the world; he has experienced "growing up" from a unique cultural perspective. Steve has lived and ministered in other countries and appreciates the diversity of our world yet always enjoys coming home and considers it a privilege to pastor and serve his congregation in South Bend.

Steve is a family man who understands the importance of ministering to the needs of the whole person; body, soul, spirit, and mind, and the needs of the entire family young, old, and in between. He loves being a husband, a father, and a grandfather, and is completely aware of the significant challenges that families face today. Steve is an optimist who is balanced, steadfast, and faith filled and he firmly believes "our help comes from the Lord, who has created the heavens and the earth."

  Diane Sumrall

Diane is the wife of Pastor Steve and the mother of Rachelle, Leslie, Stephen, Arielle, and Alexandra, and Nonna to Aidan and Liam.  Steve and Diane have been married for over 30 years and together, minister at Christ Chapel in South Bend.  Diane appreciates the blessing of family.  She loves children and parenting, and recognizes the varied and complex needs of woman and mothers today.  Diane enjoys special ministry events with the ladies of Christ Chapel's Women's Ministry, Seasons of Refreshing.



 

Randy Souza
Director of Feeding The Nations

Randy combines 25 years of executive leadership and operational military experience. He has managed and directed an organization consisting of 100 personnel in addition to spending four years in Washington D.C. supporting Air Force One. He was also Chief of Air Traffic Control/Airspace Management/Special Projects with the Department of Energy and Department Of Defense. In addition to this he has 15 years of international humanitarian operations and logistic experience. Randy orchestrated the acquisition, transportation and distribution of humanitarian relief supplies to over 60 nations of the world. With this exceptional ability and his strong foundation Feeding The Nations is able to respond quickly, efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of hurting and hungry people.

 



Bob Wiseman
Administrator and Business Manager

Robert Wiseman is the Administrator / Business Manager of Provident Ministries located in South Bend, IN. He is a degreed Accountant with over 30 years of experience in Accounting and Business Management serving as an Office Manager, Controller and Vice President of Finance for a number of manufacturing and service oriented companies.  For the last 12 years he has served with LeSea Ministries, Marilyn Hickey Ministries and now Provident.  His experience in the areas of finance, accounting, audit, banking, legal, insurance, and computer systems has served him well in both the for-profit and not-for-profit arenas.

 




Jerry Habig
Director of Provident Network

Jerry Habig is a Christian teacher, mentor, author, evangelist and Pastor of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.He studied and worked under Dr. Lester Sumrall and Dr. Stephen Sumrall.Jerry and Lynda have traveled extensively preaching the Gospel and are dedicated to introducing people to Jesus Christ.In his position as Director of Provident Network Jerry has been called a Pastor to Pastors.Provident Network is a place of accountability and fellowship for men and women called by God to minister His word to the people.



 


Josh & Rachelle Page-Wood
Detox Student Ministries

Josh and Rachelle Page-Wood are the youth pastors at Christ Chapel Church. Their desire is to see students connect with God in a real way. Josh received his BS in Crop and Soil Sciences from Michigan State University and owns his own successful landscaping business. Rachelle received her Secondary Ed teaching degree from Oral Roberts University. They both have several years experience working with JR high, SR high and College students and they are very excited to be leading Detox Student Ministries at Christ Chapel.

 


Brad & Leslie Skeens
Greenhouse Kids

Leslie is the Children's Director at Christ Chapel.  She has a heart to see children grow in Jesus and have fun when they come to church.  Leslie and her husband, Brad are the proud parents of Aidan Philip Skeens and Liam Bradley Skeens.

Tom Betz
Maintenance

As a retired Maintenance Supervisor, Tom was called upon to facilitate the remodeling and painting of Provident Ministries, Christ Chapel church and offices. He and his wife Dixie are faithful members of Christ Chapel church, and volunteer in many capacities.

 



Steve Coyle
Associate Pastor

Completing a 28 year career with the St. Joseph County Police Department, Steve retired in January 2001.  He now serves as Chaplain over that same department as well as Chaplain at the St. Joseph County Jail where a mighty move of God is taking place. In addition to the Chaplain ministry, Steve joined the staff at Provident Ministries in  March of 2008, assisting Pastor Steve with  ministerial duties. Steven has been married to his wife Barbara for 37 years, they have two children, a son Ben (32) and a daughter Sarah (30).

 



Mike Vellner
Custodian

Michael Vellner has been serving the Lord for over 35 years and has been ordained as a minister since 1995. He and his wife, Marylin have been married 42 years, have three sons and six grandchildren. Mike's gifting as a Bible teacher presently has him teaching at Westville State Prison and St. Joseph County Jail. He is also an instructor with Prison Fellowship Ministries holding seminars for the State Works Release System.  Mike works for Provident in the ministry of helps, as a custodian. He retired from a long custodial career with the school corporation.

 



Kathy Doyle
Executive Assistant to President

Kathleen Doyle has served under the leadership of  Pastor Stephen Sumrall, and the late Dr. Lester Sumrall, for over twenty years, in the field of ministry and humanitarian relief.  Her experience includes marketing, development, donor relations, special events, product procurement and logistics.  She has been involved both domestically and internationally in the non-profit arena.  Kathleen attended Indiana University, Bethel College and Oral Roberts University majoring in business and holding a minor in ministry.  Both Kathy and her husband, Michael, are licensed ministers with Provident Network. 

 


Gina Houk
Administrative Assistant to Randy Souza

Gina Houk joined Provident Ministries and Feeding The Nations in 2005. She currently serves as the Administrative Assistant to Randy Souza, Director of Feeding The Nations. Gina attended Asbury College in Wilmore, KY. She is the proud mother of two sons, Joshua (19) and Chris (17).

 

Marina Cavazos

Marina
joined Provident Ministries in 2009 she currently serves as the receptionist. She also assists in other parts of the ministry where needed.She has been part of the congregation and ministry for the past 14 years.Her past experience includes human resources, payroll, production scheduling, administrative clerical, and merchandising.She has also been involved in several mission trips domestically and internationally in which she has been able to serve as an interpreter.Marina speaks Spanish and French and attended Indiana University of South Bend where she majored in foreign language.
